Modalities

I am always learning and pulling things in from trainings. You can expect me to integrate techniques from CBT, ACT, IFS , Narrative, Experiential, and Gestalt. For me, its a collaborative approach with every client to find what kinds of therapy work for them. However, below are some therapeutic wells I draw from consistently:

Brainspotting & trauma

Brainspotting is a newer modality derived from EMDR. This model of trauma therapy allows you reduce the intensity of negative emotions and past events. And in doing so, lessen their impact on your decision making, relationships, emotional states, and day-to-day life.

I find it so important to incorporate mindful self-compassion when working with trauma and have grounded my practice in the work of Kristin Kneff.

Emotionally Focused Therapy

I use EFT for two reasons. 1) I found it can helping clients increase emotional awareness and security. 2) It can help folks understand more deeply their relationship dynamics and transform them.

Solution-Focused

I found solution focused work helps transform the revelations and understanding you have in therapy into long term more practical solutions.

Psychosexual Therapy

Psychosexual therapy is a talk therapy that helps people with intimacy issues. I work with folks experiencing sex/porn addiction (also known as Out of Control Sexual Behaviour), erectile dysfunction, pelvic pain, and low-sexual desire. I also have a background helping folks who are exploring non-monogamy and kink. Regardless of the issue, I do an assessment of the individual’s relationship, medical, and sexual history.
